the moth

like a moth within flame to ash i will return

in the heat; in the light

this new cocoon of past lives;

how many lives will i have lived? 

as mounds of ash, as strands of wind;

as wings flush into the hearth

and burn away, yes burn away

just like before

why like before?

until my wings lift me away 

from the sun—out from the sun

tell me when,

when will they learn?

when will I fly into the moon
